Contributions to the Mayor Libby Schaaf for Oakland committee are not tax-deductible. The Mayor Libby Schaaf for Oakland committee is a general-purpose committee formed by Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf to support various ballot measures. The committee may accept contributions of any amount from individuals, corporations, labor unions, PACs, etc., but may not accept contributions from foreign nationals. The committee also may not accept contributions from any person that is negotiating a City contract or contract amendment requiring approval by the City Council or the Successor to the Redevelopment Agency, or that has been awarded such a contract or amendment within the last 180 days. The committee also may not deposit your check without your name, street address, occupation and employer, and may not accept cash, cashier’s checks or money orders of $100 or more.

The Oakland Campaign Reform Act limits campaign contributions by all persons (OMC §§ 3.12.050 and 3.12.060) and prohibits contributions during specified time periods from contractors doing business with the City of Oakland, the Oakland Redevelopment Agency or the Oakland Unified School District (OMC § 3.12.140, paragraphs A., B., and C.).
